London Design Fair
Thoughts as London’s best design show closes its doors for another year.
LDF23 finished recently at the Truman Brewery. Whilst I’ve been a visitor to the show many times pre-covid, this was my first time as an exhibitor.
Across the 4 days, I was lucky enough to exhibit alongside some other wonderful craftspeople in the British Craft Pavilion - an ever present collection at LDF that showcased a collection of high-end crafts, exclusively designed and produced in Great Britain - the very best in collectible design.
I showcased some new pieces at the show, alongside others that I’ve been making to commission for a while now but which had not been exhibited in public before.

I had some fascinating conversations with both trade and the public which has left me energised and excited for the future - from commission requests, discussions around sustainability, love for my furniture pieces.
Natural oak and black cord MASON stool. This was extremely popular at the show so looks like I’m to be making a few batches of these in the coming months.
The first exhibition for the DICKENS wall-hanging shelf. Such a versatile piece, it can be customised for any space, especially useful to fill the space either side of a chimney or bay window, without making the room look smaller.
The MASON bar stool was one of the first production items made at Knot Design. It’s slender frame belies great strength and comfort. The seat is woven from danish cord, available in either natural or black, without the use of any metal fasteners that may snag clothing. The elegant design complements many types of interior. The seat height of 73cm is perfect for the majority of kitchen bar tops but can be customised through our enquiry form.
A custom version of our very popular Avery design. This table has an elongated lozenge form, standing at 40cm high with the top stretching 100cm x 60cm. The signature “draped rope” rail extends at floor level across the two fixed legs. The tabletop is constructed from pippy oak which has been sympathetically patched to stabilise some of the larger knots, giving the tabletop and unique character.
Introducing our Dickens wall-hanging shelf unit. With a nod to the simple elegance of mid century design, this piece complements any interior style while providing practical storage.
Each unit is lovingly handcrafted, providing full freedom for customisation.
